Established over three decades ago. Harrisburg Kannada Kasthuri is a cornerstone non-profit organization dedicated to support the Kannada-Speaking community in Greater Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania
For 34 years, HaKKa has acted as cultural bridge, connecting the diaspora to the traditionals of Karnataka while fostering a sense of belonging in their local American Context
The organization's mission is centered on four pillar of community enrichment:
Cultural Preservation: Actively maintaining the unique heritage of Karnataka for current and future generations.
Linguistic Promotion: Advocating for the continued use and appreciation of the Kannada language and its literature.
Community Celebration: Organizing festivals and events that align with traditional religious and social customs.
Spiritual & Social Unity: Building a cohesive community rooted in harmony, spiritual awareness, and mutual support.

As summer sets in, we plan a fun-filled Picnic —a perfect time for ಆಟ, ಮಾತು, ಹಾಡು and memorable family moments outdoors.
The festive vibes continue on as we come together in ಭಕ್ತಿ, joy, and unity to celebrate Lord Ganesha - ವಿಘ್ನೇಶ್ವರ. 🐘✨
MWe conclude the year on a bright note with Deepawali, lighting up our lives with ದೀಪ, happiness, and celebration—ending the year with smiles all around. 🪔🎉

HaKKa HaKKa collaborates with the Kannada Academy, a non profit organization that helps English speaking students learn Kannada and develop speaking, reading and writing skills.
Our online classes are organized age appropriately with a teacher- student ratio of 5:1 for active participation.
Lessons include core language concepts, engaging stories, vocabulary and repeated review of previously learned concepts

HaKKa is proud to offer Shloka classes conducted weekly for kids and adults reaffirming our commitment to cultural preservation. We aim to bridge the gap between our past generations and our future generations by reinforcing wisdom, inner peace and positive mental health that has been the cornerstone of our Vedic history.
